Composer for film, television & documentary

Mike Alonzo is a Canadian composer specializing in original music for documentaries, narrative television, and film. He creates scores that blend hybrid textures, emotional minimalism, and driving motifs to enhance storytelling and amplify the emotional impact of each project.

Over his career, Mike has composed hundreds of hours of music for award-winning television series, documentaries, commercials, and multi-media projects. He was nominated for a Gemini Award for Best Original Music for the documentary series Great Canadian Parks with Peter Truman. A multi-instrumentalist and performer, Mike also graduated from Fanshawe College’s Music Industry Arts program, where he was awarded Engineer of the Year.

“Storytelling through music has been my lifelong passion. From piano lessons at age four to exploring every instrument I could play, I’ve been fascinated with how sound shapes emotion and narrative. My goal is to help filmmakers and producers bring their stories to life through music that supports the vision and heightens the audience’s experience.”

Mike works closely with directors, producers, and creative teams to craft music that serves each story. If you’re working on a documentary, series, or film project and want to discuss scoring, please get in touch.
